Scouting Verdict

North Carolina's WR1 and its designated face of the program — a former top-120 recruit who broke out with 60 catches for 671 yards and 6 scores in 2025 amid a carousel of coordinators and unsettled quarterback play. The leadership reporting around him is unusually strong for a junior, and with 2028 as his class there are two full seasons of runway for the arrow to keep climbing. The evaluation's problem is one number: 11.2 yards a catch. Sixty-catch volume at that depth reads possession receiver, and pairing it with shaky quarterback play makes it hard to separate his ceiling from his circumstances — SI's early 2027 look-ahead pointedly left him off the class's elite tier, and Draft Scout has him as a 2028 name. Today this is a quality college No. 1 on a fringe-draftable track; the same volume at 14-plus a catch, on his third offensive coordinator, would change the math.
