A grade is a pro projection, not a college ranking. The same number means the same thing for a five-star at Texas and a walk-on in the MAC. Here is every rung, with the players who define it right now.
Round 1 conviction — a first-round pick if the draft were today.
Day 2 caliber — real Round 2–3 draft capital.
Day 3 caliber — a draftable grade, Rounds 4–7.
Priority undrafted free agent — camp invite with a real roster path.
UDFA territory — needs a big final season to get a pro look.
Long shot — fringe pro prospect today; the runway matters more than the number.
Raw prospect — tools or pedigree on record, production still to come.
Deep project — years away from a pro conversation.
Empty by design. Beating out thousands of players for an FBS roster spot means you're already above this line — the rung exists so the scale has a true zero, not so anyone lives on it.
The range is the honesty: every prospect also carries a floor and a ceiling. Thin tape widens the range — it never inflates the number. See the full board →
