Scouting Verdict
The gap between draft buzz and box score, made flesh. Marsh left Michigan State as the portal's top-rated receiver and shows up in 2027 first-round mocks — one as high as No. 11 — yet the two-year production line reads 41 catches for 649 yards, then 59 for 662 with his average collapsing from 15.8 to 11.2 a catch. The 6-3, 213 frame and No. 176 national pedigree explain the industry's faith, and quarterback play in East Lansing explains some of the numbers. However, some is not all: back-to-back sub-700-yard seasons is not a first-round receiver's ledger no matter the context, and that 4.6-yard drop in per-catch average is the single number this evaluation trusts least. Indiana's ascendant passing offense, which drew him in the portal precisely to feature him, is the perfect stress test. The grade here stays with the production — a fringe profile entering 2026 — and lets a 1,000-yard season, not a mock draft, do the promoting for the 2027 class.
