Scouting Verdict
Tone-setting box safety with a nose for the football — seven interceptions over the past two seasons, capped by a 74-tackle, four-pick, three-forced-fumble 2025 across all 15 games. Hubbard reads route combinations and sinks underneath throws, flexes onto tight ends or into a sub-linebacker role, and raises the whole defense's temperature with his hitting. The three-year arc is exactly what you want — one game, then 10, then 15 with production rising every step — and Alabama got him back for a senior season after he passed on the 2026 draft. However, his deep speed and backward range are real limitations; he's a strong-safety and big-nickel fit, not a single-high eraser, and the appetite for kill shots leaves missed tackles at the ball carrier's feet. Play-action can pull him a step too far downhill, too. Day 2 projection in the 2027 class as a physical, instinct-driven strong safety with three-phase temperament.
