Scouting Notes

A sticky boundary corner who mirrors routes and finishes at the catch point, and whose ball production climbed as the reps did. Hampton set a career high with eight pass breakups and an interception across 13 games in 2025 after a five-breakup, two-pick 2024, and the 6-2, 200 length lets him carry bigger receivers vertically and contest fades he has no business reaching. He is the CB1 on a talented Clemson secondary and his tackling improved (45 stops) as his role grew. The stance I will take: the interception total actually dipped from two to one even as the breakups jumped, so the finish-at-the-top-of-the-route trait is what separates a good cover corner from a takeaway machine, and that is the box I want checked in 2026. Multiple analysts have handed out first-round grades and he shows up as a 2027 CB2 behind Leonard Moore in Clemson-heavy mocks. Projects as a Day 2 cornerback with starter traits and clear early-round upside.
