Scouting Notes

Battle-worn volume back who carried a Playoff-bound Texas offense in 2024 — 1,064 yards on 226 carries plus 44 catches, third-team All-SEC — before a hamstring-plagued 2025 cut him to 597 yards in nine games and sent him to Tallahassee for a reset. Wisner's receiving chops are the pro argument: 66 catches over two seasons is a legitimate third-down credential, and the 2024 workload proves he can be an offense's every-down answer. But the efficiency has never been there — 4.7 and then 4.6 a carry behind a Texas line stocked with NFL players is the number that will not go away, and it points to a missing breakaway gear that the hamstring history compounds. The DeSoto pedigree and SEC tape hand him FSU's lead job on arrival, and he wants the captaincy to go with it. A healthy, efficient 1,000-yard season keeps a late-Day 3 conversation alive for 2027; anything less and the path runs through priority free agency as a pass-catching specialist.
