Scouting Notes

Long-levered edge — 6-6, 258 — with a proven sack season on the resume and a confounding one right after it. Atkinson piled up 7.5 sacks at North Carolina in 2024, transferred to Ohio State, and mostly vanished: one sack and 11 tackles across nine games in a loaded rotation. Which year is real is the entire evaluation. The UNC tape says productive rusher — 11 career sacks before Columbus — while the 2025 season says depth piece who could not win snaps at the elite level. Spring reports out of Ohio State have him surging in the end competition, and he has said plainly he was disappointed and intends to go out with a bang. However, until the 2026 sack count answers the question, the most recent evidence caps the grade. Fringe, priority-free-agent line today with a genuine Day 3 rebound path — the length and the 2024 production do not just disappear.
