Scouting Notes

Freshman corner who played all 13 games for Texas and never looked out of place — 46 tackles, six passes defensed, two interceptions and two forced fumbles as a first-year regular, with local media arguing he was robbed of Freshman All-America honors. Handling that role, that early, at a program that funnels defensive backs to Sundays makes him one of the cleaner long-range projections in the SEC. However, this is one season from a 185-pound sophomore who told reporters he needs to improve at 'everything' — the self-scout is accurate, the frame needs real weight before NFL press assignments enter the conversation, and he cannot enter a draft before 2028. So the current number stays modest on purpose while the ceiling grade (8.2) carries the trajectory. Fringe grade today strictly on sample and timeline; if the sophomore tape matches the freshman flashes, he is a national name by October.
