Scouting Notes

A long, versatile interior lineman who moves along the front and gives a defense scheme flexibility at 6-5, 298. Thompkins put together three Power-conference seasons at USC, capping them with 31 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble in 2025, and the pass-rush uptick plus the ability to slide across techniques are the selling points that drew Alabama's interest in the portal. He was the No. 3 defensive tackle ranking in the transfer market for a reason. The honest note is the ceiling: the production is steady rather than disruptive, and a three-sack peak from an interior player projects as a rotational piece more than a difference-maker, so a splash-play jump in Tuscaloosa is what the grade needs. Projects as a fringe pro prospect and a quality, versatile college contributor whose role-player traits give him a priority-free-agent path.
