Scouting Notes

Compact, downhill one-cut back at 5-11, 216 who seized Michigan's lead job and delivered — 932 yards and 10 touchdowns at 6.2 a carry, second-team All-Big Ten, with the between-the-tackles temperament the program's identity demands. Marshall runs behind his pads and finishes runs; the No. 78 national pedigree out of Archbishop Moeller was real, and 2025 cashed it. Draft media likes him — top-10 back in class rankings, Round 3-4 slotting, a name on early-declare watch lists. However, the receiving profile is nearly empty (nine catches in 2025), and in a league that pays backs for third down that is the gap between his tape grade and his draft-day reality; the position discount does the rest. His 2024 was five games and 120 yards, so this is also one true season of lead-back evidence. Late-Day 2 ceiling if the passing-game role arrives, but the honest projection is a Day 3 call in 2027 who outplays the slot.
