Scouting Verdict
The most scrutinized transfer of his era, and the tape is more ordinary than the noise in either direction. Iamaleava followed a solid Tennessee season (2,616 yards, 19-5 touchdown-to-pick) with a messier UCLA one — 1,928 passing yards on a 13-7 line — though the legs stayed genuinely dangerous at a career-high 505 rushing yards. The former No. 2 overall recruit still owns the 6-5 frame and the arm pedigree, and ESPN's Steve Muench has flagged him as the class's play-your-way-into-Round-1 candidate, the Burrow-path outlier bet. However, the passing production went backward in year three — fewer yards, a higher interception rate, and no stretch of games where he resembled the recruit — and a new coaching staff makes his third offensive reboot in three years. Consensus sits firmly on Day 3 (around Round 5 across 2027 mocks), and this grade lives there honestly, with a ceiling band that admits what one coached-up season could still unlock.
