Scouting Notes

Before the knee, Rojas was building a case as Penn State's next drafted linebacker. A top-100 national recruit (No. 87) with a four-year production ladder — 21 tackles, then 58 across 15 games of a Playoff run, then 25 tackles and two sacks in just four games before an October ACL tear ended his 2025 — he pairs downhill play at 6-2, 236 with coverage value most linebackers in his range can't offer (three interceptions and four passes defensed in 2024 alone). PFF holds him at No. 72 on its early 2027 board, and the new staff calls him the defense's centerpiece. However, everything now runs through the rehab: an October tear makes his early-2026 explosiveness the single most important data point of his evaluation, and linebackers coming off ACLs get graded on the comeback tape, not the memory. Day 3 projection in the 2027 class with clear room to climb if the knee cooperates.
