Scouting Notes

A former five-star (No. 16 overall) with elite recruiting traits still chasing the production to match, in a boom-or-bust profile. Hudson flashed the burst and ball skills that made him a blue-chip prospect, but the college output has been thin and injury-marred: eight catches for 123 yards as a freshman, then eight for 112 with two scores in a 2025 season cut short. The talent to separate and win vertically is why the ceiling stays high, and a return to full health as Texas Tech's WR1 candidate is the swing factor. The honest reality is that two years of single-digit catch totals is a real red flag for a receiver this heralded, and the grade needs a genuine 2026 breakout before the traits become a projection. Listed on both 2027 and 2028 eligibility pages with no mock buzz yet. Projects as a fringe pro prospect and high-variance college receiver whose ceiling lives entirely in what the tape has not yet shown.
