Production has followed him everywhere — 48 catches for 689 yards in his final Louisiana season, then a seamless 55-624-5 debut as Texas Tech's TE1, stacking three straight years as his offense's most trusted middle-of-the-field target. The 2025 season earned real draft press, including a stray first-round projection, and his announced return gives him the chance to add a fourth productive year across two levels of competition. However, at 6-2 he measures short for an NFL tight end, and an 11.3-yard average describes a chain-mover rather than a seam-stretcher — he will have to win as a move type, and the league drafts that build on Day 3, not Day 2. Ignore the first-round headline; the honest projection is a late-round pick who sticks for a decade because quarterbacks trust him. A fourth straight 600-yard season in 2026 would cement exactly that, and it is worth betting on.
