Scouting Notes

Sure-tackling, three-year A&M safety who plays the alley with reliability and has quietly produced across the board — 59 stops in 2024, then 62 tackles with an interception and a forced fumble in 2025. Brooks is the secondary's most proven résumé, a full-season SEC starter who diagnoses run fits fast and finishes. However, he is more steady than splashy: the coverage production (one breakup in 2025) is light for a projected DB1, and the grade needs more ball disruption to climb — the number to watch is passes defensed. What you want in 2026 is a takeaway jump to go with the tackle volume. Dependable, experienced and a legitimate draft-radar safety; the grade sits in the fringe-pro/priority-free-agent band as a plug-and-play run-support defender whose ceiling hinges on becoming more of a playmaker.
