Scouting Verdict
Portal tackle with the measurables scouts drive out to see — 6-7 with a top-100 recruiting pedigree — and a resume that has not caught up to either. Formby spent three seasons at Alabama without claiming a starting job, and Texas A&M is the clean slate: he projects as the day-one tackle on a line that needed one, and the portal market valued him accordingly. The bet is straightforward pedigree arbitrage; tackles recruited at No. 91 overall who finally get a full season of starts sometimes become late-round picks in a single fall. However, 'projected starter' is doing all the lifting in this profile — there is no starting tape yet, no counting production of any kind, and a listed 295 pounds is light on a frame that tall for NFL power. Fringe, priority-free-agent grade unless the first month of SEC starts announces a different player.
