Scouting Verdict
Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year on a 236-carry, 1,305-yard, 12-touchdown season — Martin's 2025 turned a steady three-year climb (518, then 718, then 1,305 rushing yards) into a national argument. At 6-2, 225 he's a true volume back who got better as the workload grew, adding 36 catches for 255 yards to answer the third-down question, and the national consensus sits in the Round 3-4 range across roughly 15 mocks with Round 2 pushes from the more aggressive outlets. However, the projection carries two anchors: running back positional value, and an injury file that at one point in 2025 had his own season in doubt before the OPOY finish. The 5.5 per carry also came behind a strong BYU front — zero career receiving touchdowns and modest pre-2025 efficiency leave something to prove when the blocking doesn't win first. Day 3 projection in the 2027 class, with the hardware to argue higher.
