Scouting Notes

A compact, proven workhorse who wore a heavy 2025 load and finished at the goal line. Raphael ran for 943 yards and 13 touchdowns on 232 carries at Cal, adding 34 catches for 245 yards to show three-down utility after two efficient NC State seasons; the durability and receiving value are the traits, and the touchdown production says he finishes. He is an honorable-mention All-ACC back projected to be SMU's bell-cow. The tempering note is the efficiency: 4.1 yards a carry on that volume points to a grinder rather than a home-run hitter, and the explosive-run rate is the number I would want to climb to move the grade. Projects as a Day 3-to-priority-free-agent running back whose pass-game work and durability give him a rotational or third-down NFL path.
